Bush visited Liberty ISD’s treasured “Bookmobile,” along with Liberty Middle School and Liberty Elementary School as a part of his year of education initiative. Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush visited Lone Star College-Kingwood where he toured the school along with many of the latest state-of-the-art equipment and programs offered to students enrolled at the Process Technology Center. With everchanging technology, it is important that the hands-on training that students receive keeps up with the latest technology. During both the visit and tour, Commissioner Bush visited with students learning new skills in process technology operations.

On Tuesday, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush will be visiting Liberty ISD’s treasured “Bookmobile,” along with Liberty Middle School and Liberty Elementary School as a part of his Year of Education initiative. At the middle and elementary schools, Commissioner Bush will teach an interactive Texas History Map lesson on cotton, cattle and railways using replicas of restored maps from the General Land Office Archives.

ROSENBURG, TX – Yesterday, June 26, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush toured Texas State Technical College Fort Bend Campus. The tour included highlights from various program areas where the college trains students to perform skills needed for employment in today’s high tech global economy. Throughout the tour Commissioner Bush saw first hand the skills needed to become a lineman, work in industrial maintenance, electric/power controls and environmental technology.

The Alamo is happy to announce the launch of a brand new, living historybased tour called, “Weapons of the Alamo.” This will be the first living history-based tour at the Alamo. The Weapons of the Alamo tour will teach visitors about the weapons wielded by Crockett, Esparza, and all the Alamo defenders. Led by an Alamo Living Historian, dressed in 19th century attire, this hour-long tour will unpack the mechanics, use, and importance of rifles, muskets and cannons during the 1836 Battle of the Alamo.
