Texas General Land Office Announces Communications Staff Transition
Today, Commissioner George P. Bush announced that Brittany Eck, current Press Secretary for the Texas General Land Office (GLO), has transitioned to the role of Communications Director for the Community Development and Revitalization Program (CDR). Karina Erickson, former Communications Director for U.S. Congressman Ted Poe, has joined the GLO as Press Secretary."The Texas General Land Office was faced with unprecedented responsibility in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey," said Commissioner Bush.

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush is proud to announce the winners of the 2018 Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Treasures of the Texas Coast Children's Art Contest. The grand prize winner, selected from the 40 overall winners, was Finley White, a 5th grader at Jacob's Well Elementary in Wimberley. Finley's teacher, Jennifer Lewis, will also receive a prize package as well.

The results for Saturday's 32nd annual Spring Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup by the Texas General Land Office are in. It was a little chillier with scattered showers and high tides in a few spots, but 4,905 volunteers showed up at 25 locations to remove 79,355 pounds of trash from the Texas coastline!"For 32 years Adopt-A-Beach volunteers have come together to pick up trash and keep Texas clean and beautiful," said Land Commissioner George P. Bush.

Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the results for the Coastal Bend Winter Cleanups organized by the General Land Office's Adopt-A-Beach program. At the Winter Texan Cleanup at Andy Bowie Park on South Padre Island, 493 volunteers removed 17,748 pounds of trash from three miles of Texas coastline. The Coastal Bend Winter Cleanup had 439 volunteers at six sites who removed 11,600 pounds of trash from 23.5 miles of beach. "Our Adopt-A-Beach cleanups are an example of what Texans can accomplish together," said Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush.
