Bush announced the release of the state's action plan detailing the distribution and eligible uses of $4,297,189,000 in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist Texas communities with mitigation projects.

Yesterday, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush visited Boerne Middle School North in Boerne, Texas as part of his 'Year of Education' Initiative.  During his visit, Commissioner Bush taught an interactive Texas history lesson using reproductions of one of Stephen F. Austin’s original maps from the Texas General Land Office archives. Commissioner Bush also brought a special surprise for the 7th grade class, students were given the chance to hold a cannonball fired at the Battle of the Alamo at the end of the lesson.
