Project Description
Texas A&M University - Engineering Experiment Station will use long-term local water and wave data and before-and-after-storm Digital Evaluation Model (DEM) data to validate and calibrate existing models for: (1) frequency and intensity of wave run-ups and aeolian sand transport at the beach; (2) beach elevation and beach erosional state; and (3) after-storm dune building potential. The project will help inform future interventions to protect the Cedar Lakes ecosystem and relevant coastal infrastructure.
