Port Aransas Nature Preserve Shoreline Protection

Project Description

To armor approximately 8,500 feet of unprotected shoreline.  Armoring will be accomplished by constructing a concrete bulkhead with backfill areas along the reach.  The bulkhead will be located immediately landward of the ordinary high tide line and will follow this elevation, although some areas will be cut and filled in order to maintain a relatively staight bulkhead.  The bulhead will be line with filter cloth to increase it resistance to washouts.
