Summary
The goal of this study is to conduct offshore surveys of the Sabine and Heald banks and modeled shoals in BOEM Protraction areas High Island Area, High Island Area East Addition, Sabine Pass Area, West Cameron Area, and West Cameron Area West Addition. The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is currently conducting geophysical surveying activities in all Gulf of Mexico state-owned submerged land tracts to support coastal restoration projects and establish a Sediment Management Plan (SMP). The GLO will be contracting with APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC. (APTIM) to conduct 1,050 nautical miles of fathometer, side-scan sonar, magnetometer, and chirp sub- bottom data collection of the near-surface geology. The GLO will also be contracting with The University of Texas at Austin Institute for Geophysics (UTIG) to complete data processing, data interpretation, and reporting efforts.
