Storm Water Quality Pond Performance Evaluation for Houston-Galveston Area

Project Description

Coastal communities implemented programs to address storm water runoff quality from urbanized areas using a combination of permanent storm water best management practices (BMP's) including wet retention ponds, dry detention ponds, and other structural BMP's.  Water quality testing was conducted at the inlet and outlet of Pine Brook Basin located in the Armand Bayou watershed.  Approximately 15 qualified storms were sampled for a variety of constituents to obtain the influent and effluent Event Mean Concentration (EMC) for each constituent. The final report is available to the public via web site and the results of the study will be presented at local, state, and national conferences.
