Swan Lake Marsh Restoration Planning

Project Description

Swan Lake has suffered signifcant marsh loss over the past 50 years due to ground subsidence and erosion from waves. As part of a federal natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) settlement in 2003 a rock breakwater was constructed to help protect Swan Lake. In 2007 approximately 77 acres of marsh restoration was constructed in Swan Lake. This phase of the project is the planning and implementation options to restore approximately 250 acres of intertidal marsh complex in Swan Lake.
