Project Description

Ducks Unlimited will construct a rock breakwater in shallow water along the edge of the GIWW, at varying distances from the JDMWMA shoreline. In some places the breakwater will be constructed on the edge of the JDMWMA shoreline and in some places it will be up to 50' out into the shallow water of the GIWW. This project provided permanent protection to 900 acres of critically important coastal freshwater wetlands within Compartment 9 of the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Managemnet Area.
