Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush Announces Record-Breaking Oil and Gas Revenue for Permanent School Fund
Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced that a record-breaking $1.07 billion in revenue was generated by oil and gas leases on Permanent School Fund (PSF) lands owned by the Texas General Land Office (GLO) in Fiscal Year 2021.“The Lone Star State continues to be a national leader in energy production, and I am proud to announce yet another year in which we have surpassed $1 billion in oil and gas revenues generated on GLO-owned lands,” said Commissioner Bush.

Bush asked the community for help to ensure that World War II Army Air Forces Veteran Claudia Cantu receives at least 100 birthday cards in honor of her centennial birthday. It’s not every day that a WWII Veteran turns 100 years old. Claudia was born in Uvalde, Texas on October 30, 1921 and served in the Army Air Forces from 1942 through 1945. Today the Texas General Land Office (GLO) announced the application for the Homeowner Assistance Program (HAP) will close at 5 p.m. on Nov. 19, 2021. All potential applicants must submit completed applications by the deadline to be considered for eligibility so long as funding is available.The HAP regional offices will remain open, and processing of applications will continue indefinitely until program funds are fully expended. Applications will be considered for award on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the priorities outlined in the Regional Housing Guidelines.
